Tonight, the last ever Extended Play, featuring Lars and Alex from ollo. It's been a great seven and a half years of radio, and thanks to everyone who has listened, given us feedback, and signed up during supporter drives. We did it to share music we think is amazing, to support great new artists, and to spread the word about music that gets way too little coverage elsewhere.

After seven and a half years of giving up his time for free to present our radio show, Extended Play, on 2SER, Lars has decided to call it a day. It's been great - Google the playlists if you haven't heard it – but with a very challenging year ahead he has decided it's time to hang up the radio headphones – for now. The last two shows are tonight, and next week, December 17th. Listen either at 107.3FM in Sydney, or online at www.2ser.com. 9-10.30pm Sydney time. It's very sad, but good things can't last forever and there are plenty of other fantastic shows to listen to on the sation. We are DJing at Buzz, ground floor of the Oxford Hotel on Oxford Street, Sydney, some time after 9pm.
Sunday November 4 ollo DJ at TRACK 6, the Sly Fox, Enmore, Sydney.
We have challenged them to a track-off, and will be playing exclusively track 4 from various albums. Only true albums, no compilations allowed... 7pm-10pm: Free! A strictly limited edition set of 12 postcards is now available. They feature the silver gelatin photograms made by Alex that ended up in the artwork for Ape Delay. There's one for each song on the album, plus the album cover image. You can buy them at ollomusic.com. They look bloody good framed, frankly. Printed on 100% post-consumer waster recycled card. Might be nice as a gift, bundled with a copy of the album? I dunno. Oh yes, when you buy the postcards you get a download of Ned Kelly in a Burqa, which was previously only available with the 7" single.
Tune in to Extended Play with Bobby Oh Yeah on 2SER next Monday night 22 September between 9pm and 10.30pm to hear an exclusive airing of a track that didn't make it onto 'Ape Delay'. While you're there - why not subscribe? 2SER relies on listener funding to keep going, and it's home to some of Australia's most knowledgeable music freaks, all donating their time to bring you music they love. It's only 70 bucks for a whole year's support, and it helps maintain one of Australia's unique treasures. Truth is, we've only just set this up, but we've loaded it with some old news so we don't look too sad.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////// We are surprised and proud to say that ollo have been 'long-listed' for the Coopers Australian Music Prize. This means the judges feel it's worth considering for the shortlist. We would fall over in shock if we made the final list but it's really cool to be included at all alongside such artists. In a slightly odd naming twist, Alex's great aunt, Minnie Cooper - I kid you not - won a music prize with her choir early last century and travelled to Australia to sing. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////// City Hub, part of Sydney's Alternative Media Group, has reviewed Ape Delay here
